STAFF BIOS
Donald St. Charles - Pool Manager
Donald is a Nashville native with more than 25 years of experience in managing local pools in the Nashville area. Donald has been working at Seven Hills since 2000, working as the head manager since 2013. Donald is a husband, father of three, coach, and small business owner. Donald manages the pool and lifeguard staff and is responsible for hiring of lifeguard staff, scheduling special events, and works closely with the board to ensure Seven Hills provides a safe, fun environment for members.
Gina St. Charles - Club Manager
Officially joining the staff in 2024, Gina grew up swimming at Seven Hills and has been helping to serve the club in many roles over the past 25 years. A Nashville native, Gina is also a middle school teacher and mother of three. Gina helps to oversee the member check-in process, oversees our partnership with City Kitchen, hosts club tours and much more!
Robbie McCammon - Director of Tennis
Robbie is a Nashville native who has spent the last 21 years coaching all levels of tennis. He was formerly ranked #1 in the state of Tennessee in singles and doubles and played D1 college tennis at Western Kentucky. Throughout his career, he has coached multiple high school teams to state championships and is the former USTA Competitive Training Center Director. Along with his love of tennis he has also published Baseline to Baseline and is active with the USPTA.
Ashley Whitney - Head Swim Coach
A Nashville native, Coach Ashley grew up swimming with year round and summer league swim clubs in town. She attended and swam for The Bolles School in Jacksonville, FL. While at Bolles, Ashley qualified for the US Olympic team and swam in the 1996 centennial olympic games in Atlanta, GA, winning a gold medal in the 4 x 200 freestyle relay. After the ‘96 Olympics, Ashley continued to represent and compete for the US national team while attending and swimming for the University of Georgia. At UGA, she was a member of the school’s first NCAA Championship team. Ashley transferred to the University of California Berkeley to finish her bachelor’s degree and collegiate swimming career. Training at Bolles with Coach Gregg Troy and at Berkeley with Coach Teri McKever, the head coaches for the 2012 olympic swimming team, Ashley swam for and learned from the best of the best! Ashley most recently represented the US swimming program as a member of the 2008-2009 national open water team. Since 2005, Ashley has coached year round, masters, triathletes, open water, and summer league swimmers in Nashville and collaborates with coaches across disciplines to foster a love for sports. Ashley loves being active with her husband and two daughters and enjoys competing in (and sometimes winning) triathlons, open water, and masters events. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for swimming as a competitive sport and lifelong recreation with the Seven Hills swim team.
Skyler Finley - Co-head Swim Coach
2024 is Coach Skyler's fourth year as Seven Hills co-head swim coach, and his 14th year coaching at the club. Skyler grew up at Seven Hills; he joined the swim team when he was 9 years old, and started coaching when he was 15. Since then, he has coached hundreds of athletes in Nashville and Knoxville, many of whom have gone on to compete at the collegiate level. Skyler competed for the club swim team at UT-Knoxville where he studied Marketing & Supply Chain Management. He also coaches high school and Special Olympics swimming at Hume-Fogg High School, Ensworth Aquatics, and Nashville Dolphins.
Vanessa Rolfe - Head Dive Coach
2024 is Coach Vanessa’s 21st year as the Seven Hills Head Diving Coach. In 2023, Vanessa was awarded Dive Coach of the Year by the Tennessee Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association. During her tenure, the dive team has been the City Meet Champions the past 12 years and runner up the 4 years before that. In her youth, she was a diver for 12 years in Birmingham and competed nationally and internationally. Vanessa has also coached middle and high school diving at The Ensworth School for the past 11 years. Vanessa is married and has two adult daughters, one living in Nashville, and the other lives in Virginia Beach with her husband.
Martha Melson - Assistant Dive Coach
2024 marks Coach Martha’s 12th season as the Seven Hills Assistant Diving Coach. She started diving in high school in Newton, MA. She was a three year varsity diver at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Her first coaching experience was at Woodland Golf Club during her college years. After a 15 year hiatus from diving, she was given the opportunity to share her knowledge and experience with the Seven Hills community. When Martha isn’t coaching, she loves playing tennis and spending time with her husband and two teenage children.
Chris Bates - Head Tennis Professional
Chris attended Belmont University where he was a member of the varsity tennis team. As a USPTA Certified Elite Professional, he has spent 10 years as a teaching professional at Williamson County Parks and Recreation before joining Seven Hills in 2021. Chris has coached the Ravenwood High School’s boys and girls tennis teams since 2013. During that time, the girls team won three state championship titles. In 2017 in his first year as head coach, Chris led the Raptors to the school’s first boys state championship and was named Boys Coach of the Year by The Tennessean. When he’s not coaching, Chris plays in local USTA and MTTL leagues.
James Shelp - Tennis Professional
James was a 4 year starter for Division II Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. He has coached top level juniors at Nike Tennis Camps in Malibu, California. He is PTR certified, with 10 years of coaching experience. James has also taught yoga since 2018. His classes are challenging yet accessible with special care given to proper alignment and breath awareness.
Courtney Cotton - Marketing Director
Originally from Chapel Hill, N.C., Courtney was a competitive swimmer and lifeguard at Seven Hills from 1987 – 2003 and became re-involved with the club in 2018 to provide marketing and communications support. At the club, Courtney oversees communications and supports with database needs, as well as social media, website and newsletter communications. Courtney has worked for nearly 20 years in marketing, design, communications and advertising at local organizations including the Nashville Farmers’ Market, Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, Adventure Science Center and the TN Department of Transportation.
